Winter blues...

As a native Texan and raised here in the DFW metroplex I can honestly say that I've had enough of winter!  Love a little cold weather, a little snow and a few over cast gray days.  Hello, we've had all that. This Texas girl is ready for warmer days!

As I was getting ready to take the kiddo's to school last week I happened to glimpse a hot air balloon landing in our neighborhood on an empty lot.  This happens every so often out here.  It was so fun & it reminded me Spring is around the corner.

So you might want to start getting ready for that now.  A few things you can do are:

1. Go through the kids clothing and start tossing out torn or overly worn pieces and start a charity bag for any items that are outgrown.

2. Start browsing the pre-season sales to stock up on staples of shorts, tanks, flip flops for the kiddo's or yourself.

3. White sales are on their way too so if you need to replace bedding or just want a fun up date start looking now.

4. Order seeds! It's time to order seeds for flowers or veggies that you might want to incorporate into this years garden.  This will give you more bang for your buck and a great pay off in a few months.

5. Dust out those corners and windowsills to get rid of any cobwebs and hidden spider eggs! EEK, spiders are big out here! So, take a broom or a vacuum wand covered with an old stocking or sock and get rid of those pesky little webs & eggs now.

Something you can do tomorrow, Saturday, 2/27/10 - Attend the LaRue Miller Carnival, what better way to dust off the winter blues?
